7 AM: Refuse to get out of bed until presented with leash, indicating potential for immediate outdoor adventure.
7:10 AM: Turn up nose at breakfast comprised solely of kibble. Booorrrrrring.
7:20 AM: Commence whining, including piteous nose whistling, to get mama to hurry up with her shower so that we can take a walk already. Slow, neglectful mama. Smelly is good, anyway. What's with all these showers?
7:45 AM: Finally, we're on our walk! Smell every leaf, stone, tree trunk, garbage canister, and of course, any and all pee and poop. Tug and pull so that I can meet every other human or dog we encounter. Mama nearly takes my head off just because I want to cross the street to meet the two big pit bulls! Bad mama. So controlling and antisocial.
8:30 AM: Howl at the top of my lungs while mama cruelly closes and locks the front door and walks away down the front stairs. Jump into the window seat and continue howling while she pulls the car out of the garage and drives down the street. Come back mama!
11 AM: Nancy arrives and I jump into her minivan with the other dogs. Beach time! Sun, surf, and so many other dogs! Woof!
3 PM: Back from the beach. Sleepy time.
7 PM: Finally, mama is home! I thought she'd never come! I thought I was left all alone, forever and ever. She's home she's home she's home! Spin! Jump! Howl! Bark! Whine! Spin some more! Roll onto my back and present paws and belly for inspection and rubbing.
7:10 PM: Wolf down food, now that mama added half a can of wet stuff. Yum! Mama is learning.
7:30 PM: Snooze time.
8 PM: Stand around looking dopey 'til mama comes over to pet me. When she kneels down, shove my cold nose right into her stomach, and just wait there. Lean in. See how wet I can make her shirt with just my nose.
8:05 PM: Try to get a bite of mama's sandwich when she's not looking. Fail miserably. Mama is always looking! Whine, just a bit. I'm hungry! Really I am.
8:10 PM: Chase tail. Look embarrassed when mama spots me and laughs. Slink away.
8:30 PM: Jump onto window seat and attempt to dig into the cushions. Scratching is fun! Mama is scolding me, but scratching is fun!
9 PM: Tail-chasing and cushion-digging sure is hard work. Snooze time.
This has submission to daily drool written all over it...
